A Message from the Principal

Walwa Primary prides itself on being a safe and nurturing environment where multi-age students thrive and work together as a community. We embody the values of Resilience, Compassion, Respect and Learning. All students are supported by a variety of staff consisting of a Teaching Principal, 2 Teachers, 1 Integration Aide, 1 Office Staff, 1 Librarian and 2 Chaplains. Together, these educators support all students learning at their point of need as well as supporting student wellbeing and engagement.

We offer a wide range of programs with literacy and numeracy as our core subjects. Student’s learning goals are personalised and supported through differentiated instruction and individualised learning plans. Our school is equipped with iPads, laptops and a Cisco  which allow us to embed technology into learning sessions to enhance the outcomes for our students.  Specialist classes include Sustainability, Cooking, The Arts, Paddock to Plate, The Resilience Project, Respectful Relationships, Sport, STEM and Humanities/Sciences. Great measures are taken to ensure students are being taught to be strong, resilient human beings prepared for the real world.

Our school is an active member of our small school’s cluster which includes Eskdale Primary, Upper Sandy Creek Primary, Talgarno Primary, Bethanga Primary and Mitta Primary. We engage in 8 Cluster Days each year in the areas of Wellbeing, Sports, Naidoc Day, STEM. These days offer an opportunity for students to meet and interact with a larger group of peers.

Kind regards,

The Principal
